Clinical Oncology Training Program :

We have chemotherapy unit included 36 chemotherapy chair in which 30-40 chemotherapy has been given daily.

Chemotherapy has been given to patients under the supervision of general practitioner as outpatient Most of cancer seen in department are breast cancer, gastrointestinal malignancies, lung cancer, brain tumor, urogenital malignancies and gynecological malignancies in order of frequency. We have also inpatients part in the oncology sevices to follow up and treat patients who had malignancies.

Every Wednesday oncology tumor board included radiology, medical oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, pulmonologist, thoracic surgery, otolaryngologist, gastroenterolog come together to consult patients with malignancy. And alsothere is neurosurgery tumor board in every Saturday.

In our hospital nucleer medicine had PET-CT modality. İnvasive radiology can perform every diagnostic biopsy and locoregional therapy for metastatic disease. There is also radiotherapy devise for curative and paliative radiotherapy. In neurosurgery department gamaknife therapy can be performed for brain tumor.

During 1 month of rotation time, you can attemp oncology polyclinic to approach and plan the treatment of malignancy patient and you can also follow the patient who take chemotherapy in chemotherapy unit. You can attemp tumor board and discussions of case or article with medical student in Bahcesehir University Medical Faculty two day in a week .
